Apprentice in School Finance and Administration
Based at the Albert Pye Primary School, with weekly working at Ravensmere Infant School
Wages: £111 per week
30 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time plus 5 PD days)
Fixed term for the duration of the apprenticeship
This is an exciting opportunity to learn and develop and begin a career in school business administration. Working alongside an experienced team, you will be supported through your course by the Business Manager. You will provide a reception service for pupils, parents and visitors.
The post is 30 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time only plus 5 Professional Development days), worked Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm. The post will be paid 52 weeks per year to allow for college study and there may be some requirement to provide school holiday support work. You will need to be flexible with regards to your non-work day. Holidays are to be taken during school holiday periods only. There may be a need to work some overtime as and when required, to cover absent colleagues.
You will be required to work as part of the finance and administration team to help ensure the smooth running of the administrative support service across the Albert Pye and Ravensmere Schools Federation.
Led by the Business Manager, the team comprises of four experienced school administration and finance officers.

You will also be required to comply with Health and Safety regulations and complete the Apprenticeship programme within the timescales outlined by the Business Administration Vocational Trainer.
Other than attending college for ‘workshops’, approximately twice a month, the Intermediate Apprenticeship Framework training programme in Business Administration is primarily delivered in the workplace unless, should you not possess suitable concession qualifications, you are also required to attend college to undertake Functional Skills Qualifications
This apprenticeship provides good experience for working in any school office, but also provides transferrable skills that could be applied in other office environments.There will be the opportunity to learn about all aspects of school business management. Should a vacancy arise in our school offices during the apprenticeship, it would be intended that the apprentice takes the role as a permanent member of the team. However, this cannot be guaranteed.
