The Albert Pye just received 2nd Place in the group section of the Embroiderer’s Guild National De Denne Competition.
Our challenging theme this year was ’Imprisoned Splendour’.
A group of Year 6 pupils worked at an after school textile club for many weeks, developing and realising their design based upon fossils.
They painted, printed, applied fabrics, dyed silk, made felt, stitched and embellished their piece with sequins.
The results were stunning and they should all feel very proud of their achievements.
Already the pieces have been exhibited at the N.E.C in Birmingham and the ’Makit’ Fair at the East of England Showground.
It was a privilege to work with a talented group of creative stitchers, well done!
