Children's Mental Health

C.H.I.M.P

At Albert Pye, we are committed in supporting all aspects of the children’s development and their mental health. Over the course of this academic year, we will strive to continue our schools mental health provision. This will include CPD for our staff, additional education for our pupils through assemblies and within lessons, help from community visitors’ and taking part in national mental health days.

Through our strong links with the other North Suffolk ALT schools (Red Oak Primary School, Grove Primary School, Westwood Primary School, Reydon Primary School and Pakefield Primary School), the school councils developed and piloted a successful mental health and wellbeing programme called CHIMP (Children’s Health Is Mental and Physical).

Before the programme was implemented, the children collaborated in deciding what they believed contributed to their mental wellbeing. After several meetings and much deliberation, the final design of the CHIMP dinner plate was established.

As a school, we will focus on aspects of the dinner plate within our assemblies and will keep the dinner plate on display as a constant reminder of the importance of the children’s mental health.

Within our school, we are lucky enough to have several members of staff that have attended Mental Health First Aiders training. These members of staff are:

· Mr Stevens

· Miss Lane

Please feel free to approach these members of staff if you have any questions. Alternatively, keep a close eye on website for updates on events happening.
